WHAT DOES VIDEO PRODUCTION COST?
On average videos between 3-5 min cost around $5K-10K depending on the scope, production days, and editing required. Filming a video is billed on day rates, while post-production is a flat rate depending on the size of the project. A Day Rate of filming can cost between $850-1500 depending on what gear and how many cameras are required for the shoot.
Shorter internal communication videos can cost much less. The cost of 1 day + small edit could be $1,500 or less for CEO messaging, or small interview-based videos which would fall under Half Day Rate
An ESG-style report video with Interviews + footage would likely be a 2-3 day shoot + post-production and roughly cost around $7-10K. This would likely involve many interviews, plus a couple of days of b-roll and filming of different sites. With good planning filming could be conducted throughout the year, capturing different broll and locations to build up to the final ESG report, at the same time building a video content library for the company. This would obviously cost more, however, the footage would likely be used over many different projects going forward.
I’ve included a rough estimate below with some pricing on some of the services mentioned above and day rates.
