WHAT DOES VIDEO PRODUCTION COST?

On average documentaries cost around $20-30K for a 10-30 minute production depending on the scope, production days, and editing required. Filming a video is billed on day rates, while post-production is a flat rate depending on the size of the project. A Day Rate of filming can cost between $1500-$3,000 depending on variable crew sizes, cameras, equipment, and logistics of the day.

With good planning filming could be conducted throughout the year, capturing different b-roll and locations to build up to the final documentary edit.

I’ve included a rough estimate below with some pricing structure on the suggested budget of $25K for our Olds College documentary.
